I have some ideas of music I’d like for my wedding, but I’m not sure about the song titles. Can you help with song selections?
Yes, we can help you with song titles and finding the perfect song(s) for your wedding or party.
Do you take special song requests?
Yes, we can accommodate most song requests. Songs requiring any extensive music arrangement may require an additional arranging charge.
Do you charge a travel fee?
There is no additional travel fee for any event within a 45 minute travel time from NYC area. Anything more will incur a travel fee.
Can you play outdoors?
Yes, we can and often do. Because instruments are valuable, we would require covering from rain, extreme heat and sunlight. We do not perform outdoors in cold weather. Jazz group will need an a power source.
I’m not sure whether to go with a trio or quartet for the ceremony, and whether to have the jazz or string group for cocktail hour.
It depends on your personal taste, budget, size of venue and number of guests. Is the ceremony inside or outside? A trio could best be heard in a room with decent acoustics and under about 100 guests. Outside or with more guests, a quartet is recommended.
For the cocktail hour, the string groups can play a mix of classical and contemporary songs in the genres of your choosing, but if you are looking for something more lively, consider the jazz quartet. We have special combo rates available for parties using both the string and jazz groups.
We can also custom the instrumentation to your needs. We can do a duo (ceremony only) for intimate events, and have had as many as 20 string players in a gala at the Plaza. We have a network of the finest NYC musicians available.
What time do the musicians arrive?
The musicians will be set up 1/2 hour before the scheduled ceremony time or event. For wedding ceremonies, we will perform Prelude music 10-15 minutes before the ceremony or as guests are being seated.
What are the musicians attire?
Standard is concert black or tuxedo for string groups, and suit and tie for jazz group.
I’d like to book the Castle Chamber Players. What next?
